AREA DIVE GRADES
To help you decide whether a
particular dive is suitable for you we have applied a grade
to each site. These are not official ratings, they are subject
to variables such as tide and weather and should be treated
only as a guide.
ONE
- Sheltered sites similar to those used
for training, with little or no tidal movement. Ideal for
warm-up and gear check out dives.
TWO
- Deeper open water dives with some
tidal movement possible, use of SMBs or delayed SMBs may be
needed. Safety stops will be necessary.
THREE
- Deep more complex dives needing
particularly careful planning and execution. Stronger tidal
streams may be encountered so delayed SMBs must be carried
and their use well practiced. Decompression stops may be
needed.
FOUR
- Only for the very experienced. Please
refer to dive shop or skippers for information on these dives.
